West Georgia Tech softball sweeps Chattahoochee Valley
CARROLLTON, Ga. – The West Georgia Tech softball team was impressive in its spring home debut as they swept Chattahoochee Valley Community College 2-0 and 4-3 Sunday afternoon in Douglasville.
The Knights improved their spring record to 4-2. Chattahoochee Valley was playing its first contests of the season.

West Georgia Tech only scored two runs on five hits, but that was all they would need. Casey Bucy (2-for-3) and Kayla Castle (2-for-2) had two hits each for WGTC.
The Golden Knights held off a late Pirate rally to win the nightcap 4-3.
Katie Stone was the only Golden Knight with multiple hits with a 2-for-3 night.

West Georgia Tech had a 3-1 lead in the top of the fifth before allowing a single run to make it a 3-2 game. The Knights then responded with a run in the bottom-half of the inning to give them a 4-2 cushion.
Chattahoochee Valley scored a run in the top of the seventh to get within a run at 4-3 and had the tying run on base. But a fly out to centerfield ended the game.
West Georgia Tech returns to action next Thursday as they travel to Albany to take on Darton State College with a doubleheader scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
