Forte leads Lady Knights over Lady Titans
TALLAPOOSA, Ga. – The West Georgia Tech Golden Knights swept Middle Georgia Tech in conference basketball action Saturday. The women won 93-79 and the men won on a shot at the buzzer, 90-89.

Sha’Ron Forte scored a career-high 25 points to lead the West Georgia Tech women’s team over Middle Georgia Tech 93-79 in conference action Saturday afternoon in Tallapoosa.
The Golden Knights secured second place in the conference behind Georgia Northwestern with a 2-1 record and moved to 6-13 overall. Middle Georgia Tech dropped to 1-2 in conference play.
Forte's 25-point effort including 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 2-of-5 from three-point range. Nicole Marshall added 18 points for the Knights. Marshall shot 7-of-9 overall and was 2-of-2 from behind the arc. Sharika Pennamon (12 points) and Victoria Conner (10 points) also contributed double-figures for West Georgia Tech.
Asheleigh Burnett came off the bench to lead MGTC with 16 points.
The Golden Knights shot 46 percent from the floor overall. West Georgia Tech was very effective from long-range, shooting 8-of-17 on three-pointers.
West Georgia Tech used a swarming full-court defense to force 29 Middle Georgia Tech turnovers.
The Golden Knights return to action Monday afternoon when they host Denmark Tech (S.C.) at 5:30 p.m., at Oak Mountain Academy in Carrollton. The men’s game will follow at 7:30 p.m.
