MACON, GA — There was cheering, high-fives and lots of
encouragement for 4th and 5th graders at Bernd Elementary School on
Friday, September 21. The CGTC Lady Cougars were there sharing
opportunities of achievement in the classroom and on the basketball
court.
Participants were able to interact with CGTC Coaches and Players,
learn life lessons, learn about what it takes to become a
Student-Athlete, and most importantly to let the children know they
are valued and can succeed.
CGTC athletic teams are active in community service and this
participation marked the third community service event of the
2012-2013 school year.
“Our goal is to develop the whole student, with emphasis on
giving back to the community as well as working hard to develop
excellence academically and athletically,” said Rorie
Bradley, CGTC Athletic Director. “It was great to see our
athletes interacting with the children and serving as positive role
models.”
When asked about their involvement in this event, Lady Cougars Head
Coach, Fala Bullock had this to say. “We are so fortunate to
be able to impact the lives of young girls in the Macon
community.”
