Cavaliers finish No.2 at Georgia Collegiate State Championships
MARIETTA - Darton State College took a pair of individual
titles and finished 2nd overall at the 2015 Georgia Collegiate
State Championships at the Life University campus in
Marietta, Sunday.
Darton's Bryce Carr and Sammy Rasario won individual titles
in the 165 and 133-lb. classes, respectively.
Carr dominated the NAIA's fifth-ranked wrestler with a
convincing 6-0 decision, and Rasario avenged an early season loss
with a pin in the finals.
Other notable finishes came by Zach Wright and Orlando
Nawade, who won 2nd place titles, Matt Carroll who finished 3rd,
and Brandon Weber, who finished 4th.
"This was a great tournament for us as we get into the
home stretch of our season," Darton State College wrestling coach
James Hicks said. "It is always our goal to peak for district and
nationals and it looks like we are on track to do that."
Darton will host the Cavalier Duals on Saturday in the
DSC Arena at noon.
